East Camden Pastoral Charge Food Security Program

The Food Security Program began in 2023 thanks to a local benefactor who wanted to offer ’seed money’ to begin a program supporting families in need in the area of Yarker/Moscow/Camden East.
This program is housed at Riverside United Church in Yarker and is administered by Rev. Phil Wilson, the Riverside United Church Treasurer and a community committee.
In the middle of the month, it offers families access to vouchers for the Lucky Dollar and non-perishable food as available.
The Food Security Program receives funding support from the Community Foundation of Lennox and Addington.

There is a continuing need for this program in our community.
We are accepting financial donations to provide for the food vouchers as well as non-perishable food items that will be distributed to the families we currently support.

Non perishable food items can be dropped off at Riverside or Moscow churches on Sundays at worship times.

Christmas Gift Cards

Each year Riverside United Church raises funds to support local families at the Christmas season. Fundraising begins in late October and runs until late November. One hundred percent of the funds raised are gifted to local families.
Receipts are issued by the church for donations of $20 or greater.
Many church members as well as community members and local businesses generously support this mission.
